Kill Our Demons: Part One Release (#devlog6)
THE MASTERS OF FATE
#devlog6
“Oi.. Stranger” said the strange man in the park, suspiciously looking around. I wonder what he’s up to.
We’re back! The summer has been a blast. Since the last update, I have been traveling around Europe. Barcelona. Amsterdam. Braga. London. I’ve been putting QR code stickers around these cities. Marketing this game, on a lowkey, intimate, and personal scale. It’s been so much fun. I can’t wait to go back to Barcelona next year and hopefully see them still there or maybe put new ones there.
But I have been working hard on this update, I’ve held it for too long. The core mechanics and concepts remain the same with just a sprinkling of inspiration from touring and seeing the world. This *update* will be rolling out under the original UE4 version tonight and I will be re-releasing it later in the week on the UE5 platform. Both will be accessible and co-exist until the next “major” update.
GENERAL TLC:
- Intro splash screens, introducing my new label/brand/studio: Warhelm Studios.
- Loading Screens (will be improved on as we go)
- Fixed/updated a few shaders, textures, and materials
GAMEPLAY & WORLD:
- New Monster (Grim Reaper)
- New Food (accessible via Stranger)
- New Death animation
- Added ambiance soundtracks
- Added special effects and sounds (Beam spawn, reaper landing, rune summon, etc.)
- Stranger dialogue/audio
MENTAL VISUALISED: With this update, I present the mechanic; unique, monster-specific features and effects that affect how, why, and where you play the game. Each monster offers a unique experience, what you do defines where you end up. No spoilers intended here.
ROADMAP: (of what’s to come)
- The Masters of Fate: Release (start)

I thank you for playing, reading, or watching the progress of K.O.D. If you have any problems or encounter any bugs, feel free to comment, review, or contact me @developr_dale on Twitter or Instagram!
